Welcome to My Rally Campaign
- It’s that time of year again! Summer is here and summer training has fully commenced. My speed skating team (ASE) will be celebrating this skating season with our 3rd Annual Sufferfest. If you haven’t heard of Sufferfest before, it’s a speedskating fundraiser where my teammates and I suffer through an ungodly number of laps (250) on the short track rink, in an hour or less, in the hopes of collecting pledges per lap skated. This year our fundraising goal is big, $15,000 big. Let me tell you why…
Why I'm Raising Funds
- This is ASE’s 6th year as a Junior and Senior Elite Development Program supported by US Speedskating and the Pettit National Ice Center. Our numbers have quadrupled and our performance reflects our work, dedication, passion, and fun. ASE is proud to be the home team of 1 Jr Olympic Team member, 2 World Cup, World Champ, and Olympic Team members, 7 Jr World Team members, 3 University Games team members, and countless other developmental skaters impacted by ASE’s short and long track programs, remote coaching, equipment services, and camps.
-
For ASE and the Pettit Center to continue on this path of growth and performance we need new equipment including bikes, weight sleds, slide boards, and short track pads. More off-ice equipment will allow our teams to increase the volume and intensity of their dryland training as well as increase the total outreach on developing skaters in the region through camps. New short track pads will give our skaters the confidence to push past their limits and reach new speeds. This is exactly what the team needs to become even more competitive on an international level. New pads will also increase the safety for our developing skaters in the region who rely on the Pettit National Ice Center to host competitions each season.
My Team
- The ASE team is comprised of Long Track Coach, Eric Cepuran; Short Track Coach, Hong Yang Wang; Program Director, Carl Cepuran; and, of course, all our athletes! Each skater has a unique story and an extreme passion for speedskating. This passion is what drives us to be our best whether it's on the ice, in the weight room, at a competition, or cheering for each other.
